Bombardier has four Challengers in our heavy fleet and builds exactly one of them. The 650 is that aircraft; the 604, the 605 and the 850 have all ended production. For a charterer this is not a detail about factories — a current type means younger airframes reaching the market, a deeper support network behind them, and a supply that is not capped at whatever survives. Range is 4,000 nm and top speed 470 kt, both at the front of the Challenger group, with twelve seats and 115 cu ft across twelve bags.
The cabin is the most compact in this class at 307 in, and 95 in across rather than the 98 the older Challengers carry. Those two figures are the price of the rest, and they are worth stating plainly: this is the smallest heavy cabin we charter, and a party of twelve will feel it against a 604 or a 605. What they get in exchange is the newest airframe in the category and 4,000 nm of range from it. Specified for a full-length sector where cabin condition and dispatch matter more than a few inches of width, the 650 is the Challenger to ask for by name.
