Legacy 600

The Legacy 600 carries 286 cu ft of baggage across twenty-nine bags — the same hold the Legacy 650 has, and more than any other heavy jet we charter offers except that sibling. What it does not carry is the 650's cabin length: 509 in against 598 in, with thirteen seats rather than fourteen and 3,250 nm of range rather than 3,900. That is the whole shape of the decision between the two, and it is unusually clean for a pair of aircraft this close. The luggage capacity is identical; the room and the reach are not.

For a charterer whose constraint is cargo rather than distance, the 600 is the more sensible half of the pair. Ski groups, production crews and sports parties routinely exhaust a heavy jet's hold long before they exhaust its seats, and this aircraft answers that specific problem at a shorter airframe. The cabin is 83 in wide and 72 in high, and runs 509 in — long by any measure outside this class. Production has ended. Specified for a two-to-four hour sector with thirteen aboard and everything they own in the back, it does a job that the range-led aircraft in this category do not do better.
