Hawker 900XP

We operate four Hawkers in the midsize class and the 900XP tops the line on both counts that separate them: 2,818 nm of range and 452 kt, each the highest of the four. Set against the 800XP it offers the same 256 in cabin with more distance in hand; set against the 700A the gap widens considerably. Production has ended across the whole Hawker line, so what distinguishes the models to a charterer today is specification rather than which one is still being built. And charterers do compare them, because on a listing the four look nearly identical — the 900XP is the one that takes a fuel stop out of the longer sectors this class gets asked to fly.

The cabin runs 256 in at 72 in wide and 68.9 in high, seating seven to eight. Baggage is 50 cu ft across five bags, and that is the honest edge of the aircraft: the hold is small relative to the cabin ahead of it, and a full party travelling with winter or sports equipment will meet that limit early. The 700A and the 750 each carry 79 cu ft and give up range to do it. That trade runs the length of the Hawker line, and the 900XP sits firmly on the distance side of it rather than pretending to straddle both.

The long-sector Hawker
