The Premier IA is the single Beechcraft in our light fleet, and the specification that justifies looking at it is the hold. Seventy-seven cubic feet sits behind six seats — more baggage volume than the seven-seat Learjet 40 or the nine-seat Learjet 45 carries, more than the Phenom 300 has behind its nine seats, and more than any CJ whose figure we hold. For a small party travelling with equipment rather than overnight bags, that ratio is unusual enough in this category to decide a booking on its own.
The cabin is 66 in wide and 65 in high — the tallest here after the two XLS models, and equal in width to them. That cross-section, in a 162 in cabin, is what a Beechcraft light jet was: broad and short rather than long and narrow, which is the opposite of the Learjet approach at the same size. Range is 1,125 nm, the shortest in this class, and top speed 451 kt from a 3,792 ft runway. Production has ended. Specified for six people, a couple of hours, and more luggage than the airframe looks like it should take, the Premier IA has no direct equivalent in the fleet.
