At 1,550 nm the Citation M2 covers more ground than any other very light jet we charter, and it is the only one in the class with six seats — every other aircraft here stops at four or five. Those two facts travel together more often than they look as though they should: the sector that justifies a sixth passenger is usually the sector that needs the extra range to be flown without a stop. Top speed is 404 kt, takeoff 3,250 ft, and the cabin runs 132 in at 58 in wide and 57.1 in high. Cessna still builds the type.
The hold is where the aircraft is honest about its size. Forty-three cubic feet across six bags is the smallest baggage capacity in this class, and with six people aboard that becomes the constraint before the seats do — this is an aircraft for a full party travelling light, not for a full party travelling with equipment. Charterers who need the hold read across to the HondaJet's 66 cu ft or the Citation Mustang's 57. What the M2 offers instead is the combination nothing else here has: six seats and the range to use them.
