Every Cessna in the Private Jet Royalty fleet is a Citation, the Wichita jet line that Textron Aviation has built since the first one flew in 1969.

Clyde Cessna flew an aeroplane of his own construction in 1911 and set up his company at Wichita, Kansas in 1927. The jet side of the business started in 1969 with the first flight of the Citation, and that name has covered every Cessna business jet since. The company has been part of Textron since 1992 and has traded as Textron Aviation since 2014. There is no second jet line to learn. Every Cessna here is a Citation, and what separates one from another is size and range inside one continuous product family.

The Cessna presence here is fourteen aircraft in four categories, and it is deliberately lopsided. Eight of the fourteen are Light Jets, more than any other manufacturer in this fleet puts into a single category. Three are Super Midsize, two are Very Light Jets, one is Midsize. What that shape offers is depth instead of reach: not one aeroplane per class, but a graded run through the class most short and medium European sectors are actually flown in. Choosing a Cessna Light Jet is a choice among eight aircraft, and the differences between them are small and worth asking about.
