Global 6500

Six thousand six hundred nautical miles is what separates the Global 6500 from every other Bombardier in the fleet. It is the reach that turns New York–Dubai into a single sector and London–Singapore into a departure rather than an itinerary. Range of that order changes what a schedule can hold: a meeting on one continent and a return the same week, without the technical stop that used to sit in between. The 6500 is the Global still in production, and it carries that range on a wing that gets airborne in 6,145 ft — 155 ft less than the Global 6000 it succeeds. For intercontinental work that combination is the whole argument. The aircraft does not ask you to choose between the distance you need and the airport you would rather leave from.

On a sector that long the cabin stops being seating and becomes the working environment. The 6500 offers 74 in of height and 519 in of length, enough to move through the aircraft and to hold a sleeping configuration on the eastbound legs where it matters most. Baggage capacity of 195 cu ft, or 20 bags, keeps a three-week trip from becoming a packing exercise before it starts. Crew and catering are briefed to the sector rather than to a template: a transpacific departure and a European hop are not the same job, and the 6500 is chartered almost exclusively for the first. The aircraft lands in 2,236 ft, so the arrival airport rarely dictates the routing either. The rest of the family offers the same cabin; only the 6500 keeps it available for 6,600 nm without putting the aircraft back on the ground.
