At 75.6 in the G-200 stands taller inside than any other super midsize aircraft we charter, and it carries 86 in of width alongside that — a width nothing in this class exceeds and only the Challenger 300 matches. The two figures together produce a cross-section that reads closer to a heavy jet than to the midsize aircraft this category grew out of. Range is 3,346 nm and top speed 480 kt, both mid-class: the G-200 is not the one to specify for reach. It is the one to specify when nine people will spend four or five hours aboard and the cabin has to hold up for all of it. Gulfstream has ended production, so the airframes in circulation are a finite set — worth knowing when comparing quotes, because condition varies more widely across a closed run than an open one.
Baggage runs 125 cu ft across thirteen bags, which is generous against nine seats and is the practical reason the type still appears on ski and golf itineraries where the passenger count is modest and the load is not. The cabin is 293 in long, shorter than the Praetor 600 and the Legacy 500, and the trade is clear in effect whatever the intent behind it: volume goes into height and width rather than into feet. Nine passengers seated across that cross-section have more room at the shoulder and overhead than the same nine would find in a longer, narrower aircraft. The G-280 that followed is the more current airframe; the G-200 remains the taller one, and on a short-to-medium sector height is the dimension passengers actually remark on.
